Exploring Alien World - Matte painting

City close-up mixing 3D with fully painted buildings. Some textures applied.
painted extentions onto the rocks and left part of the city. Characters and motorbike were painted too.
Model 3D ship from L30 studio and part of the game itself. Blended to the scene in terms of color, shadow cast and lights.
The HORIZON brand logo I did not design but I gave it a material metallic look.
Story Line Artwork:
This ancient Varaian in Humanoid form is channeling his energy to create a new life form, the Kor’tahz. Their goal: To find a race worthy enough to become a companion race to the Varaians.
However,
After an unknown period of time, the Varaians determined that the experiment was a failure. They decided to abort the experiment and attempted to destroy their creation. Luckily some of the Kor’tahz managed to escape and set forth a plan of their own: to spread the spores of life throughout the galaxy, in hopes that these seeds would birth new civilizations that might aid them in their struggle against the Varaians.
The Kor’tahz is the first race you will encounter in our new 4x space strategy game: Horizon. Will you join their cause and help them?
